Prayer Requests & Updates

Stephanie Copeland’s sister Marilyn Mckinney passed on Thursday, December 2nd. Her children and twin sister shared final moments with her. Please pray for Stephanie and her family. Cards of sympathy may be sent to 1251 Webb Farm Lane, Loganville, GA 30052.

Update from Oscar Copeland on his pathology report:
Praise God! The growth in my colon is benign, not cancerous. I will follow-up with my doctor to have it removed.  I am so grateful for the prayers, cards and hosts of well wishes.

From Elizabeth Brewer:
Let’s say Oh Happy Day! I have joyous news. After many years of battling prostate cancer my dad rang the bell for finishing his lengthy infusion.
Elizabeth Brewer

From Lisa Goodwin:
Thank you for all the love and prayers for our family with the loss of my precious mother.
With much love & forever friendship…
Lisa Goodwin

From Marcia Redd:
Thank you so much to our church family for all your love and many many prayers and comfort during the last three and a half years of my brothers struggle with colon cancer. I’m amazed at how the prayers of the saints sustain those who are suffering and comfort us all. This is how Christ’s Church should be. Thank you all for the beautiful basket of plants. I am reminded of your love whenever I see them.
Love,
Lee and Marcia Redd & Sally and Reese Fick

THE GIVING TREE

Hello church! We are excited to share that it’s that time of year again to do something special for our single parents and their children for Christmas. We will also be helping a few families in the church that a little extra blessing will come in handy this time of year. We are doing things differently by asking for $25 gift cards instead of actual presents. If you want to donate money instead of buying the gift cards yourself there are several ways to give. On our website, Tithe.ly has a place in the giving drop down menu for The Giving Tree or you can write a check or give cash. In the back of the auditorium a table will be set up and you can drop money or checks into the jar. Please give any gift cards you do purchase to Cricket or Terry Morrow. All gifts cards and donations need be made or delivered by Wednesday, December 15 at our last congregational midweek of the year. Thank you in advance for being a little elf working behind the scenes to bring a big smile to some of “our” children’s faces in the Athens Church of Christ! And thank you for encouraging the single parents in our church family!

But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Matthew 6:3-4

Love to all,

Terry and Cricket

ACOC HOST WEEK BEGINS DECEMBER 12TH

Please take a moment to pause and think what it would be like to not have the blessing of stable housing for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or the New Year.  We have an opportunity to meet the needs of one family of 8 this holiday season.  Our last week of volunteering this year for Family Promise of Athens begins Sunday evening December 12th.  Would you have a couple of hours to be available onsite during the day, or bring a meal, or a flexible evening to spend the night?  Please visit the Sign Up Genius link to view specifics and the various ways to help.  Thank you so much for your time and please don’t hesitate to email or text or call with ANY questions!
