About Our Church
Welcome to the Athens Church of Christ!
Originally planted in the heart of Athens, the Athens Church of Christ is located in Watkinsville, GA. The church’s membership is composed of people from Athens and surrounding areas.
Our Beliefs
We believe in God and his Son, Jesus Christ!
We believe that Jesus died on the cross as an atoning sacrifice for our sins, that God raised him from the dead on the third day, and that God offers forgiveness of sins, the gift of his Holy Spirit, and eternal life to all who believe, repent, are baptized and follow Jesus as Lord! (Acts 2:36-38; Romans 10:9)
We embrace the Bible as God’s inspired Word and the standard by which we strive to live. (2 Timothy 3:16)
We believe that to truly be Christians we must be devoted disciples of Jesus. (Acts 11:25-26)
We believe in the continuing and edifying work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of disciples, providing spiritual guidance in accordance with God’s Word and transforming believers into the
image of Christ. (2 Corinthians 3:18)
And we believe that the church is the family of God, intended to follow Jesus together in community, with no racial, socio-economic, or cultural divisions. As disciples, we are all equal
before God and one in Christ! (Galatians 3:26-28)
Our Fellowship
Our fellowship features thriving children’s, youth, and college campus ministries, as well as family groups (small group ministries) for people of all ages. We also have a number of specialized ministries.
Our weekly schedule includes:
Midweek gatherings both as a congregation and as family groups.
Campus, teen, and other specialized ministries’ gatherings.
Adult Sunday school classes, 9:00am
Sunday Worship and children’s programs, 10:30am
