Tomorrow we will participate in a virtual service with our brothers and sisters from other Atlanta area congregations: Northview, Bridgepoint, North River, Cornerstone, and ACOC Gwinnett. Even though those leading us in worship will be on a screen, I want us all to come (or join online if you feel it is safer) ready to love, fellowship (via your comments if you’re online), and worship God from our hearts! Let’s celebrate being God’s children and our salvation together joyously, singing from our hearts to the Lord and extending love and encouragement to one another.
Never forget, God did not put you or me here to be served or have our needs met by the church. Rather, he has given us the church that we might serve it and love our brothers and sisters, thereby becoming more like Jesus, in whose image he longs to transform us. We go to church to give–to give to God in worship with all our strength and to our brothers and sisters, mindful of their need for love and encouragement in the faith. When I do this, when I give in this way, the incredible side-effect is that I feel loved and as if my needs are met as well.
I love you all! Look forward to seeing you tomorrow (in person or online) to worship our God!
