Think about the EVER-PRESENCE OF GOD! No matter what trouble we face, our God is always with us. It was faith in this truth that inspired the psalmist with hope, strength, and peace as he considered the security of God’s presence and the power of his sovereignty!
Knowing that our powerful and faithful God is ever-present in every situation, we, like the psalmist, need not fear! Even when the “earth gives way”and “mountains fall into the heart of the sea”– those things we tend to put security in like health, jobs, relationships, and aspects of life we simply take for granted suddenly collapse beneath us and are no longer there–we need not fear if our security is in God rather than circumstances and “normalcy.”
Even when the “waters of the sea roar and foam,” we need not be anxious. In the ancient world, water was a symbol of chaos, because it was so unstable and unpredictable (kinda like life, huh?) What is the psalmist saying? Even when life is at its most chaotic–all sense of control and predictability has been lost–our ever-present God is with us! Like the psalmist, we must resolve to trust in the reality of our God and cling to him in our hearts and minds as our REFUGE and our STRENGTH!
Be encouraged and inspired! Your EVER-PRESENT GOD is with you today!
