Prayer Request

Dana Chacon’s mother Betty Snodgrass fell last night and broke her shoulder and her wrist. She is in a hospital in Lakeland, FL and cannot have any visitors because of Covid restrictions. Please pray for her and wisdom for the best case scenario for her recovery. Cards of encouragement may be sent to her at 1001 Carpenters Way, Apt. B404, Lakeland, FL 33809.

Thank you so very much brothers and sisters for the overwhelming expressions of love with your phone calls, cards and most especially, your prayers. As I think of our Father’s riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people, I am humbled and so grateful for each of you and the Kingdom of God.

Here’s a quick update from the board. We have welcomed Jim Hasler and Tim Sanders to the board, replacing Greg Garcia and Jonathan Ruhlen. We know that their experience professionally and their wisdom and perspectives will prove valuable to our ongoing work.
 
We have finally completed the steps to receive approval from the county for the renovation of the teen building. With the assistance of a local professional, we now have an approved special use permit. We have reached out to the general contractor who created interior drawings over a year ago and requested an updated quote, with the understanding that material costs and supply have greatly increased since our original quote. The general contractor will submit the site plans and the proposed interior plans to the Oconee County building inspection department to apply for a renovation permit. We are hoping to complete that part of the permitting process within the next sixty days.
 
We have secured a line of credit from Oconee State Bank, choosing to not utilize the reserves for this project, as we wanted the discipline that loan payments would provide in paying for the costs of this project. We have proposed to the elders that the costs for the loan be covered through Generosity Sunday donations, as we do not currently have space in our annual budget for that additional monthly expenses related to this renovation project. We collected $25,000 from the 2019 Generosity Sunday offering and will be using that money for the expenses associated with the project approval and some of the first year of loan payments.
 
The weekly contribution in January 2021 totaled $62,020 for the month or $12,566 per week.  The good news is that we gave more in January 2021 than we did in January 2020!  We appreciate the faithfulness of the brothers and sisters in our fellowship. We will continue to keep you posted. Pray for us all to excel in this grace of giving.
