How to Give Contribution and How to Live Stream on Sundays

Hello Brothers and Sisters!

The purpose of this email is to let you know our plan for collecting our weekly contribution during this period in which we are not meeting for Sunday services at the church building. As you know, even though the coronavirus outbreak has disrupted our meeting schedule, the church still must cover its regular expenses. Therefore, we depend greatly on everyone still giving their normal financial contributions. We thank you and pray God blesses you for your faithfulness!

There are 3 OPTIONS FOR GIVING your weekly contribution while we are meeting in Family Groups and/or watching the streamed messages from home:

Option 1: GIVE ONLINE. This is the preferred method. For those of you unfamiliar with the process, a step-by-step “how to” is posted below.

Option 2: GIVE AT YOUR FAMILY GROUP GATHERING: Family Group leaders will collect the contribution and mail it in collectively to the church. The mailing address is below.

Option 3: MAIL IT IN DIRECTLY YOURSELF: If you are not meeting with a Family Group due to concern over the coronavirus and, for some reason, elect not to give online, you may mail your contribution into the church at the address below.

Instructions to setup your Tithe.ly Account to give to the Athens Church of Christ:

(continued on next page)

  1. Choose your giving method (“Card” or “Bank”)

Each method charges a processing fee for each transaction. The church covers the fees for you.
The approximate fees are:
ACH (Bank) is 1% + $0.30
Visa/Mastercard/Discover is 2% + $0.30
American Express is 3.5% + $0.30

  1. If you want to cover the fees, instead of the church, you can choose to “Cover Fees” which will increase your gift slightly to cover the processing fees.
  2. If you want to create your Tithe.ly account now, Click the “Remember Me” option and enter a password and 4-digit Pin. Your password and PIN will be used for you to access your Tithe.ly account along with your email address. If not, proceed to step 11.
  3. Click “Give”

Church address for mailing contribution checks:

How to stream the 10:30 am message from Kindred on Sunday:
The easiest way to join in on live broadcasts is via Facebook. You can use the link below, or search for “Athens Church of Christ” in the search bar on Facebook.

https://www.facebook.com/athenscoc

When you go to the Facebook page, you will see the live broadcast when it begins. You can watch even if you don’t have a Facebook account.  If you do have a Facebook account, be sure to “Like” our Facebook page and you can get notifications when the live broadcast begins.
OR you can watch online at the website here:

https://www.athenscoc.com/live-broadcast/

Both of these links will be active during the live broadcast. Facebook may work better for people that have slower internet service, as the feed on Facebook is compressed and works better if you have slower internet.

We have added links to GIVE ONLINE and LIVE BROADCAST right on the church website home page https://www.athenscoc.com/

On a mobile device, the website will look like this:

You can access the live stream from a mobile phone or laptop/computer. To share with a group such as your Family Group, you can connect a laptop to your TV with an HDMI cable to show the broadcast on a TV. As of now, there isn’t a good solution to stream directly to a smart TV, but connecting a laptop to a TV is a good solution for group viewing.
