GENEROSITY SUNDAY IS ON MAY 4TH

In a few weeks we will be having our “GENEROSITY SUNDAY.” It is a time for the church here in Athens to sacrifice for God. Every year I am encouraged and challenged by your financial sacrifice. Over the last several years we have BLOWN AWAY the goal that we have set for ourselves. I am confident that this year will be the same. My challenge for us all is what Paul said to the Corinthian Church. II Corinthians 8:10-12… And here is my advice about what is best for you in this matter: last year you were the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so. Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means. For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have.

Here is what we need for the contribution:

MISSION WORK IN THE BAHAMAS………$30,000

MISSION WORK AT THE SWAMP…………$10,000

CAMPUS MINISTRY INTERN……………….$15,000

MONEY TO ENHANCE OUR WORSHIP……$10,000

PLAYGROUND IMPROVEMENTS………….$5,000

THAT BRINGS THE GRAND TOTAL TO $70,000. That is a lot of money for our church but over the last several years we have been able to surpass that goal. We have many other needs that if the money is there we will try to do. Some of these are:

 ENHANCE THE PLAYGROUND AREA

 MORE CLASSROOM SPACE FOR OUR CHILDREN

BUILDING A PAVILION BY THE PLAYGROUND

BUYING AJOINING PROPERTY FOR PARKING AND GROWTH

HELPING PLANT THE CHURCH IN AUGUSTA IN 2015

My prayer for all of us is to look at this list and discuss it with our families. We all need to pray about this and ask God to put it on our hearts what he wants us to do and how much he wants us to give.

Grace and Peace,

Sonny
